Education access is expanding. Post-release stability supports haven’t kept pace. We bridge that gap with practical navigation, barrier removal, and coordinated reentry-to-campus support.

The Gap

Access is growing. Continuity still breaks.

California has expanding higher-education pathways for justice-impacted people—but post-release persistence often collapses under housing disruption, financial gaps, documentation barriers, and cross-system friction. Many services address one piece of the problem. JSEI is built to coordinate the full pathway: incarceration → campus → career.

Note: We collaborate with existing programs and reentry providers—JSEI fills the “throughline” between them.

Mission

Education + Stability = Staying Enrolled

JSEI’s mission is to advance educational and economic mobility for formerly incarcerated and justice-impacted people by expanding access to higher education, housing stability supports, and workforce pathways—especially for women and transitional-aged youth (18–24).

We build continuity from incarceration → campus → career through practical navigation, barrier removal, and coordinated handoffs across partners.
